BBC News: David Cameron ‘confident’ about 2014 Afghan troop withdrawal promise

David Cameron has said he is “confident” of meeting his promise to bring the majority of UK troops home from Afghanistan by the end of 2014.

Speaking on a visit to the country, the prime minister said reductions in troops before then would be done in an “ordered and sensible” fashion.

He is due to make an announcement before the end of the year about how many troops will come home in 2013.

    LET US HOPE THAT MR CAMERON DOES NOT DO A U’ TURN ON THIS, PLEASE WE WANT OUR TROOPS HOME – FROM THE MO AND JO TEAM – SOMERSET

    I concorde. A gradually reduction of our forces and a rising on Afghan forces is a process that require time. A substitution sic et simpliciter is not possiblle. Gradually, on the contrary, we will train Afghan forces on the manner they will have a high prepararation and may have the total padronance of the situation. We have gained more traguard, we will arrive to others. claudio alpaca
