Captain Stephen James Healey killed in Afghanistan

It is with sadness that the Ministry of Defence must confirm that Captain Stephen James Healey, from 1st Battalion The Royal Welsh, was killed in Afghanistan on Saturday 26 May 2012.

Captain Healey commanded the Combined Force Burma reconnaissance platoon and, whilst conducting a vehicle patrol in the north of the Nahr-e Saraj district of Helmand province, his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device. He was given immediate first aid before being flown to the military hospital at Camp Bastion where, sadly, his death was confirmed.

    The sad loss of Captain Stephen James Healey is another name on the lengthy roll of splendid people who in serving the nation in this far flung corner have given all there was. It is impossible to offer anything other than the deepest sympathies to his family, friends and all those who served alongside. RIP.

    My condolences to you buddies and family of Captain Healey, who has been killed on Afghanistan. I am sure He is now on the arms of The Father. he is living on eternity and is praying for us. We say Healey we have the serenity done by our faith and He is living on our hearts for ever, our thoughts are for him as for all the fallens we are remembering not only on this days but any day.
