Two RLC soldiers killed in Afghanistan

It is with sadness that the Ministry of Defence must announce that two soldiers from the Royal Logistic Corps (RLC) were killed in Helmand province on 4 May 2012.

The soldiers, who were attached to 1st Battalion The Royal Welsh Battlegroup, were serving as part Combined Force Burma when they were killed in an indirect fire attack on Forward Operating Base Ouellette, in the northern part of Nahr-e Saraj district.

Spokesman for Task Force Helmand, Major Ian Lawrence, said:

“Sadly, I must report that today two soldiers from the Royal Logistic Corps, attached to 1st Battalion The Royal Welsh Battlegroup, were killed in an indirect fire attack on their base.

“The thoughts and condolences of everyone serving in the Combined Force are with their families and friends.”

The soldiers’ families have been informed and have asked for a period of grace before further details are released.

    I offer my condolences to the families and friends of those who have lost their all in the service of the Crown. It is a desperately sad loss. RIP

    Hi buddies, my condolences to you and Ministry of defence for the death of two soldiers fron the Royal Logistic Corps, killed by indirect fire on their base.
    This make this deatth more hard to accept. But, for our faith, we have the certainity they are now on the reign of The Father, who has embraced them.

    Hope everyone in Forward Operating Base Ouellette, in the northern part of Nahr-e Saraj district are safe for the furute of this tour.
    My dad is in that base😦
