February 8, 2012

Scots soldiers are playing a key role in the transfer of security in Afghanistan to Afghan forces.

British forces are due to withdraw from Afghanistan by 2014, but many of the 10,000 soldiers deployed there may be brought home in little more than a year.

BBC Scotland’s Cameron Buttle and Craig Swan have been following 3 Scots, the Black Watch, in Helmand.

In a series of special reports, they look at the role of Scots soldiers who have been deployed there.
