AP: Turkey: 10 years on, delegates discuss Afghan war

A decade after the Taliban were ousted from power, regional leaders Wednesday pledged to find ways to improve security and economic development in Afghanistan as international combat forces prepare to leave by the end of 2014.

The one-day conference in Istanbul followed the September assassination of an Afghan peace envoy and other high-profile assaults in Afghanistan that have diminished prospects for a negotiated settlement and intensified suspicion of Pakistani support for the insurgency, an allegation that Pakistan’s government denies.

    An hope or a chimere? Karzai will open tractative also with talibans and this may be rights, but He may not have a prior assurance that humans rights, law, women emancipation, no childs or other people will be used as human bomb, people live conditions will be elevated to a dignity just now absent.
    The tractative table must require a formal accord by talibans and their assurance that Afghanistan will be a democratic country on the substance, and not only formarly.
