Quietest deployment yet for 29 Commando
Some units in Helmand have witnessed pockets of fighting over the past two months but 29 Commando Regiment Royal Artillery on Artillery Hill near Gereshk is involved in its quietest deployment yet.
At present the unit’s emphasis is on the training up of the Afghan National Army and helping to man and support other units. The quiet nature of this deployment has surprised the regiment with some of the younger commandos deployed here for the first time being frustrated by the lack of action.
