Security tightens during second day of Operation Tufan Alutaka

Adapting and reacting to changes in atmospherics on the ground is essential to maintaining security in Afghanistan. The 3rd Battalion the Mercian Regiment accompanied by the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards have taken part in Operation Tufan Alutaka to disrupt insurgent activity in the upper Gereshk valley of Afghanistan’s Helmand Province.

During the second day of the operation, they staged a Vehicle Check Point helping to provide security for a shura in their Forward Operating Base Khar Nikah. Tristan Nicholls of BFBS reports.
