Mr Gary Sullivan is Managing Director of Wilson James, a large construction company in Essex. Earlier this year, Gary spent 6 weeks in Afghanistan on a fact-finding mission; looking particularly at the British Army’s approach to construction. On his return to the UK, Gary gave a number of radio interviews to BBC Radio Essex; telling of his thoughts and observations during his time in Helmand Province.

In the second of 3 interviews, Gary discusses how soldiers are working with the Afghan community; as well as their general morale and the equipment they have at their disposal.

In the 3rd interview, Ian Puckey talks to Gary on his evening ‘Drivetime’ programme about working with the military and what the construction industry and private sector can do to support military personnel once their time in the service comes to an end.
